What are some of the bad behaviors?
Well, I obviously can’t name them all and I’m sure each person out there has some that are completely unique to them. But I can be sure of one thing, they all center around emotional behavior.
- Gut feelings: Avoid these. Never make a trade on the basis of this feeling. It’s fine to investigate the feeling and see if the numbers show a good trade, but never blindly follow your gut.
- Lack of confidence: There is a point where you’re going to have to follow through on your trades. You can’t act indecisive and hesitate. You won’t grow as a trader if you do that.
- Overconfidence: This can be pretty bad. Confidence is good, but if you’re not balancing it, you have a problem. You’ll probably start overestimating your potential with a trade and always seem to come up short.
When should I be trading?
You should stick to high volume times for trading. The reason is simple, market forces are in control. You can be confident that there are no other big traders out there that can make a huge trade that will affect the direction of the currency. You are in a better position to follow your analysis techniques.
